Development of two molecular diagnostic kits for the identification of Tropical Diseases and Pneumonias
SnibVitro S.A. concludes successfully the project "DEVELOPMENT OF MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTIC KITS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF PATHOGENS ASSOCIATED WITH TROPICAL DISEASES AND PNEUMONIAS (NEUMOTROP, IDI-20161008)", funded by the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) with European Union Funds.

The main aim of this project was the development of two new molecular detection tests for patogen agents responsables of relevant infectious diseases with a high prevalence and emergency; specifically a kit for detecting emerging viruses associated with tropical fevers and a kit for detecting a very comprehensive panel of bacteria causing pneumonia and also their possible antibiotic resistance. Both products will be oriented to differential diagnosis and confirmatory analysis in diagnostics centers using the same methodology of multiplex PCR detection and reverse flow hybridization based on the DNA-FLOW technology. Both steps are automated in the hybriSpot platform, also developed by Vitro S.A. An additional objective of the project was the optimization of the parameters and conditions required to get a lyophilized format of these products.
